McIntosh Lake Nature Area

A City nature area around McIntosh Lake with a 3.5-mile loop trail, fishing for all ages, and room to paddle a canoe, kayak or paddleboard.

A 3.5-mile trail loops the whole lake, with a spur trail to Boulder County’s Agricultural Heritage Center. Only carry-on, non-motorized boats are allowed, launched at the designated ramps, and everyone aboard must wear a life jacket; swimming is prohibited. Fishing is open to all ages, dogs must be on a leash at all times, and glass containers are not allowed. The City notes the lake is a reservoir, so water levels vary year to year.
